Our Values
ENGAGE in Biblical Truth.
We believe the Bible is best understood when we study its eternal truths Together. When we ENGAGE with the Scripture on a regular basis, our lives will be forever altered. 242 is Devoted to the Apostles Teaching.
EXPERIENCE Christian Community.
We believe that life is best when we share it authentically with others. Life is not meant to be done alone. Whether it’s in a Small Group, a Missions Team, or a Serve Ministry, (and many more) it’s vital we EXPERIENCE life Together. 242 is Devoted to Fellowship.
EAT Common Meals.
We believe something incredible happens around a table. The Scriptures reveal whether it’s sharing a common meal or receiving communion (we do this every 4th Sunday), EATING Together is considered a sacred thing. And let’s be real, food is exceptionally tasty. 242 is Devoted to Breaking Bread.
EXPECT the Impossible.
We believe that God wants us to live life to its fullest. When we ask and believe in faith, God hears us. When we gather Together in the name of Jesus, He promises to be with us. We EXPECT the impossible. To request prayer, click here. 242 is Devoted to Prayer.
ENVISION Kingdom Growth.
We believe that the message of good news (Gospel) should expand. The words of Jesus are to be spread to all the earth. We are called to make disciple and to see His Church multiply. We ENVISION Together a new heaven and earth. 242 is Devoted to Adding.
EAGER to Give.
We believe in the blessing of offering our resources. Together, we donate of our time, talents, and finance. With joy we are contributors not consumers. We are EAGER to faithfully return to God what is already His. 242 is Devoted to Generosity.

WHAT DOES 242 MEAN?
We take our name from the book in the Bible called Acts. Or for you theologians, The Acts of the Apostles. Then turn to Chapter 2. Scroll down to Verse 42. Pretty straightforward.
“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.”
ARE WE A PART OF SOME DENOMINATION?
242 has no official denominational alignment or religious headquarters. We are a self-governed, Inter-Denominational congregation. We have folks from varying Christian backgrounds and many with zero “religious” affiliation at all. If a denominational church is your thing, we would be more than happy to point you in the right direction. We do however enjoy partnering with other local churches to serve our community.
IS THIS PLACE A CULT?
Sorry if you’re all into cults, but we’re not one. Cults tell you what to believe, take away your freedom, and forbid you to leave. We want you to experience freedom, and you’re free to leave whenever you want. Plus, cults are never fun, and we like to have a blast!
WHAT IF I DON’T BELIEVE IN GOD?
No problem. We are glad you are hanging out with us. We’re hoping that maybe you’re open to exploring faith, and to the idea that maybe there is a God and maybe He’s worth knowing.

WHAT IF I HAVE KIDS?
Kids are one of the highest priorities of 242. Nursery through Pre-K is provided for the entirety of our Gathering. K-5th graders are led out of the Sanctuary following the Music. Rest with certainty knowing your kids are learning in a safe, engaging environment.
ISN’T THE CHURCH JUST AFTER MY MONEY?
Nah. We are funded through the generosity of ordinary everyday people who believe so much in what God is doing at 242, they want to help make it happen. You’ll find that we do not like to pressure into giving when giving is suppose to come from the heart!
