First Serve
First Serve allows you to “test drive” any area of ministry without any obligation beyond the first day. If it’s not a good fit, you can gracefully bow out. Try First Serve in as many areas as you want until one “Clicks”. This link gets the ball rolling.

Youth Ministry
242KIDS
Kids ministry is more than a daycare. It is preparing the next generation to know the love of Jesus. There is no more vital place to serve. You can be part of the nursery/preschool, or K-5th. A children’s ministry volunteer:
- Cares: engages every child with Biblical activities, media, crafts, and stories.
- Cultivates: a safe and fun environment.
- Comforts: make our families feel welcome.
DRIVEN BY INNOVATION?
CREATIVE TEAM
Are you tech-savvy? Do you have a knack for learning new things that involve buttons and flashy thingies? As a creative volunteer you could:
- Enhance the weekend gathering by operating ProPresenter, sound system, lighting, or act as a moderator for our 242 E-Family.
- Actively participate in weekly sound checks, run-throughs before each gathering, or something simple as making sure batteries are charged.
- Take pictures/video during 242 events/gatherings.

LOVE ENGAGING?
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Do you love interacting with the public and helping them feel at ease? If so, First Impressions is eager for you to pick your pois…excuse us… passion:
- Greeters: Can you smile contagiously, open doors with enthusiasm, and speak heartfelt words of encouragement? The world needs happy people like you!
- The Hub: Do you love Trivia? If answering questions about 242 events, where something/someone is located, or how to get connected, you get 100 points.
- Parking Lot: Be the first smiling face everyone sees. Knowledge of angle parking is a plus. Waving is highly encouraged. Rainy days may require umbrella efficiency.
- Ushers: If crowd control, pleasant poise, and a premium is put on superior math skills (calculating mortals & money) describes you, let us “count” you in.
- Security: If David Dunn rings a bell or guardian angels invoke passion, it’s time to spread your wings! A respect for the men/women in blue is necessary.
If the idea of being a friendly and familiar face for every man/woman/child that enters our doors or creating a safe/secure atmosphere is your thing, then First Impressions is for you!
OFFICE ORIENTED?

Do spreadsheets make you sing? Does data input set your heart ablaze? Are you a lover of Microsoft Wizard? Do you use folders to organize your folders… inside even bigger folders?
If office work is your secret crush, the Admin Team is waiting for you! You can use your skills during the week and/or weekend to help make sure 242 runs efficiently so we can continue to reach people effectively.
ARE YOU HANDY?
FACILITIES
Do you dream of screwdrivers (not the drink), paint, leaf blowers, or Windex? The Facilities Team may be your dream opportunity! On the Facilities Team you can serve by:
- Make our facility sparkle. Cleanliness is next to…well you know.
- Set up and tear down for special events at the facility throughout the year.
- Landscaping. Everyone who drives onto the property should know we care.
- Maintenance. There’s always walls to paint, doors to fix, and toys flushed down toilets. Electricians, plumbers, and HVAC specialists are always welcome at 242!
Behind the scenes?
HOSPITALITY
The Hospitality Team makes the magic happen behind the scenes: Whether its coffee, snacks, Communion, room setup, restocking materials, (and oh so much more), this team rocks the minutiae most don’t think about. If you get “juiced” about small details because of the BIG difference they make, Hospitality is for you.
